On Friday 5th May, all the school were invited to the coronation of our own King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Oaklands Abbey. The weather was kind and we had a wonderful afternoon of festivities of music and dance culminating in our crown parade.
On Tuesday 21st March, Elm and Beech classes became junior Pizzaiolos (junior Pizza chefs) for the morning. We had a busy Book Day this year! Dressing up as book character, having a shared read with the Junior school and a visit to Pinehurst Care-home to read some of our favourite stories.
On Friday 3rd March Oaklands children visited Pinehurst Care-home to show off their book day costumes and read a selection of their favourite stories.
Year 1 visited Windsor Castle as part of their ‘Lower the Drawbridge’ topic.
On Friday 13th January ourselves and the Junior School held a non-uniform day to raise funds for Thames Valley Air Ambulance who landed on our playground a week before due to an emergency call out. Oaklands Schools raised a total of £543.82!
