Following on from National Offer Day – 16th April 2026 for September 2026 intake, we would like to offer a very warm welcome to Oaklands Infants School to all our families that have been issued with an offer for Oaklands Infants School Foundation stage.

An opportunity for you and your child to visit and spend some time in the two classrooms, outside play area and meet members of the Oaklands Team.

If you have siblings at the school, they are welcome to join you. For these sessions, please arrive via the Foundation Stage play area, if you are unsure where this is please go to the school office and staff will direct you. You are welcome to attend one or both sessions.
Monday 29th June 3.30 – 4.00pmStay and Play Session

Wednesday 1st July 9.30 – 10.30am
(Parent Presentation at 9.45am)
Formal induction session including parent meeting

Your child will spend some time in their new class becoming familiar with the class environment and the staff who will be working with them.

Drop Off: at the front entrance of the school where you will be directed to your child’s classroom.

Parent Presentation: To find out about daily routines, school expectations, meet various people connected to the school community and answer any queries. This also gives you the chance to meet other parents of the children in our 2026 Reception classes.
Friday 10th July 9.30 – 10.45amFormal induction session for children only

A further opportunity for the children to become familiar with their classroom, teacher and make new friends.

Drop off and pick up from the external classroom door.
Thursday 3rd September and Friday 4th SeptemberA Welcome to Your School one off individual scheduled appointment

A 15-minute appointment for you and your child to meet their teacher and teaching assistant. These sessions are immensely important to us as we are able to find out the little details of each individual child and it gives us the opportunity to establish strong links between home and school. It also allows you to ask any questions about starting school or discuss any concerns you may have on a one-to-one basis.

During the visit the teacher will need to see your child’s birth certificate, please have it available.
We will provide further details of your child’s specific date and time for this visit in due course.
Monday 7th September to Wednesday 9th SeptemberPhased introduction to school

Phased entry at the start of term in September, gets the children used to being in school gradually. It also gives the teachers and support staff time to spend with your child, ensuring their first experience of school is as positive as we can make it.

Details of your child’s grouping for the phased entry will be confirmed in a future email.
