World Book Day 2023
We had a busy Book Day this year! Dressing up as book character, having a shared read with the Junior school and a visit to Pinehurst Care-home to read some of our favourite stories.
We had a busy Book Day this year! Dressing up as book character, having a shared read with the Junior school and a visit to Pinehurst Care-home to read some of our favourite stories.
On Friday 3rd March Oaklands children visited Pinehurst Care-home to show off their book day costumes and read a selection of their favourite stories.
Year 1 visited Windsor Castle as part of their ‘Lower the Drawbridge’ topic.
On Friday 13th January ourselves and the Junior School held a non-uniform day to raise funds for Thames Valley Air Ambulance who landed on our playground a week before due to an emergency call out. Oaklands Schools raised a total of £543.82!
Year 2 finally got to finish their Panic in Pudding Lane topic with a re-enactment of the Great Fire of London. Just like in 1666 the fire was slow to spread but once it did it soon destroyed the houses and St. Paul’s Cathedral. There were lots of gasps of Read more…
